Convergence in mobile devices
One of the characteristics of modern handheld and tablet computers (think iPhone and iPad as examples) that tends to confuse older users, but that it is valued and expected among younger users is called convergence. Many functions have become built into a single device: your tablet is a radio/ music player, camera, email device, phone (or at least Facetime/ Skype/ SMS device), notebook, camera... and all of these are connected in a manner that is unfamiliar to those of use who grew up (technologically anyways) using desktops in which a single program ran at a time and computer time meant sitting down in a chair and using it in a single place.
