Slide Rocket has been around for some time, but I had not been on the site for some time. My students were recently looking for an alternative to Google Docs presentations and they wanted to be able to log in using their Google Apps accounts that are managed through school. (Originally that wanted to use Prezi, but some of them did not want use their home email accounts for this and we do not assign email addresses to students.)
We found the Slide ROcket app and it appears to fit our need--
- Students log on using their Google accounts
- They can create presentations with some more "eye candy" than is allowed by Google presentations
- We can embed the presentations
