Subject: Middle Grades Institute Early Bird Registration Ends June 1

Registrations for this summer's Middle Grades Institute are flying in, and we're thrilled to report educators from all corners of the state, representing 22 schools, will be convening in Burlington! The dates are June 23-27, with a follow up conference in January 2015, at the University of Vermont. Here is a list of the schools so far: Albany Community School, Alburgh Community Education Center, Camel's Hump Middle School, Christ the King School, Concord School, Crossett Brook Middle School, Essex Town School District, Hartford Middle School, Hazen Union School, Hunt Middle School, Lyndon Town School, Main Street Middle School, Newton School, Orange Center School, Peoples Academy Middle Level, St. Johnsbury School District, Stowe Middle School, Twin Valley Middle School,Vergennes Union High School, Waits River Valley School, Williston Central School, Winooski Middle School.

VAMLE Scholar Leader Dinner is on June 4th at Norwich University. We have about 40 schools sending their two outstanding students to this exciting recognition night. Each student receives a plaque provided by NELMS and VAMLE, and an individual keepsake photo by sponsor, LifeTouch Studios. Thank you to all who are participating this year! The VAMLE Annual Board Meeting will be held on Thursday, May 22nd at Mount Anthony Union Middle School in Bennington. All meetings are open and we welcome teachers and principals to join us for all or part of the day. The meeting begins at 10am and usually adjourns by 3pm. Please call Sue Gee at 802-522-7180802-522-7180 if you plan to attend so we can provide lunch and look forward to meeting you. Meg O'Donnell of Shelburne Community School will be stepping down as President, and Betsy Memoe of Manchester Elementary and Middle School will move from President-Elect into the President's role for the next two years.The highlight of this meeting will be a report of our highly successful conference, Beyond Bullying, Creating a Culture of Respect, attended by 167 people representing 18 schools on March 6th.
